What's up Dave! I read your article in Recording (Master It Yourself, July 2004) and you've really opened a totally different spectrum I've never been aware of (no pun intended). They say the more knowledgeable you become the less you know....now I feel like a dumb ass. Thanks Dave!

Hello Dave,
I was just sitting around tonight trying to remember the name of your Golden Ears CD Course and decided to do some searching on the web for it...and I ended up here. Lots of information for me to process..so I must get to it....thanx for all of your efforts to the audio world....I know they are appreciated.

Was trying to think of a means of designing a semi-omnidirectional speaker for my system. Search led me to B&O then to you. Love your speaker design. Is the cylindrical shape dispersionally functional?

Hi Dave. Another tonemeister has found his prof! I was in Carter's class at Fredonia when you took over. At the moment I oversee a Christian satellite radio network in Moscow, and have put my training under you to good use.

I was wondering, what ever happened to that transducer that you and that physics professor invented? did you market it in a speaker design, and if so,is it currently available?
hope you are well and healthy, and glad you are still into audio, like me!

all the best,

Daniel Johnson

Just wanted to let you know that as a young teenager I was a fan of the song "Susan; Bannister" on 97 Rock. A long time ago, but a good song.

Dave, I'm making my way back to the biz, I'd left just when MIDI was new. Lots of stuff to learn and re-learn. Glad I rescripted to Recording Mag, thanks for Total Recording, the Golden Ear series, and all of your input to the mag. Looking for a few engineer buds from 20 years ago, if they're out there--Dave McNair of Texas and Claude Hachile of NY. Thanx again, awesome site! V/r, J.D. Eisenberg, OSC(SW/AW), USN

Hey Dave - I'm new to Harmony Central and your website - I'm Ultrasound. Great site you have! Enjoyed your article.
I was SO beginning to think that nobody out there knew anything about loudness. My son measures it at Rock It Science Labs - Advanced Guitar Technology, and I just happen to own the LOUDEST GUITAR IN THE WORLD! Pleeeezed to meet you. A little louder, I'm hard of hearing.

John Marks writes about your CD album "Playback; Platinum" but it is not listed anywhere on your website. I'd like to include it as one of my nominations for for 2003 "Stereophile; Accessory of the Year," but I can't if it is no longer available.

Looks like a little interest in acoustic lenses and Saulsalito Audio has been generated on DIYAUDIO.com

I thought you'd like to know that the entire town of Fredonia has gone to hell since Mighty Taco packed up and moved back to Buffalo, to take part in some new economic revival of biological smart pills, etc.

On the Fredonia campus, the Mason Hall building has large cranes parked outside of it day and night, I think they are trying to make some sort of new reverb plate out of Maytum hall.

The campus is getting a new website, but it won't help the situation, because it was typed by a thousand monkey's on a thousand Dell computers, and they finally got the page cleaned up to the point where it loads in a web browser.

We really wish you'd come out of the woodwork and stop the music industry from imploding upon itself. Are you free next Tuesday?
